Vertis Aviation appoints James Foster as Chief Operating Officer

Vertis Aviation, the Switzerland-headquartered charter specialist, has named James Foster as its new Chief Operating Officer with immediate effect. Foster is now responsible for overall planning, development and executing of Vertis’ global development strategy for its charter business and the Vertis Charter Management Programme, which will be scaled up with the addition of new aircraft before the end of the year.

Foster will also manage the international Vertis sales team, review process structures and enhance operational efficiencies. With the effects of the COVID19 pandemic stimulating interest in private charter from a new set of customers, the opportunities presented will be a major initial focus for Foster. Vertis continues to be a strong advocate for environmental issues and Foster is charged with staying abreast of the latest trends in hybrid/electric technology via participation in industry events and conferences, as well as continuing to define and develop the VA Footprints carbon offset programme. Supplier audits and the maintenance of Vertis Aviation’s status as one of a small number of elite Argus Certified Brokers will also be part of Foster’s remit. The accreditation positions the customer-centric company in the top echelon of global charter providers

“It’s an interesting, challenging and exciting time for business aviation and I’m excited to join Vertis when there is so much going on,” says Foster. “As Vertis approaches the end of its first decade of operations we have a strong, premium brand and are well positioned and respected within the sector to build on this. There are many opportunities to further develop our offering in existing and new markets by continuing to deliver the very best business experience for our customers and partners.” Foster joins Vertis following a decade of working with leading charter and fractional ownership organisations where customer acquisition and management, oversight of a global sales team and business development formed part of his daily routine.

The Vertis team is based throughout its international offices located in Zug, London, Beverly Hills, Dubai, and Cape Town. “As we approach our tenth anniversary we know we’ve built up a dynamic business with solid foundations and have many exciting plans ahead. I have no doubt that with the professionalism and experience James brings to Vertis he will be integral to our success in our next decade. We are delighted to have him join our team,” added Julian Burrell, Vertis Aviation Chairman.

Vertis markets on behalf of owner/operators a select portfolio of business aircraft including a Global 6000, Global 5000, Gulfstream 450, Falcon 900EX, Challenger 350, and an Embraer ERJ145
