Belmond Le Manoir aux Quat’Saisons

Despite the name, this is a very English house of breathtaking beauty with a history to match. This 15th century Oxfordshire Manor House provides everything you need. Externally there’s a fanciful Japanese ornamental garden, a stunning botanic glasshouse and the kitchen gardens are to be seen to be believed. Lympstone Manor Hotel

Another showstopping option for those with a love of Michelin starred food and hospitality. Based on the southern coast of Devon, the Lympstone is owned by British food icon Michael Caine MBE who is currently growing his own vineyard within the grounds with the first harvest expected in 2021 and the first taste of the Devon grown wine around two years later.

For a hotel which achieved a Michelin star within the first 6 months, it’s not difficult to see why – the food encompasses Michael’s creativity with global taste and vision, allowing him to transform the seasonal and regional into dishes of rare precision, focus and flavour.

Hambleton Hall

Overlooking the iconic Rutland Water, this Victorian property dating back to 1881 boasts views, splendour and English tradition. The Hall has held a Michelin star for 37 years, and interestingly the current chef Aaron Patterson began his career at the hotel at the age of just 16 before training elsewhere and returning as Head Chef in 1993. The hotel also provides an adjacent suite cottage with a private terrace to enjoy a secluded breakfast or dinner.

*Top Tip: Take a wander around the 17 acres of grounds before enjoying an evening glass of champagne on the terrace overlooking the waters.
