The 2020 Travel List

A new year and a new decade means a whole new list of travel plans to make, now’s the time to decide where you want to visit during the next twelve months be that for personal or business.

Here are our top destinations to enjoy a little relaxation, culture, sightseeing, adventure and family time complete with the all important incredible drink and cuisine in 2020.

An incredible location found in the southern Caribbean, around 17 miles north of Venezuela, it’s a place of blue seas, blue skies and white sandy beaches, the perfect choice for a ‘switch off from reality’ get-away. Sail away on one of the islands many available cruises. Whilst you’re out on the water, it’s also a great place to snorkel, particularly as the coral and marine life is a sight to behold, along with some of shipwrecks hidden under the waters.

Top tip: Book ahead for a spot at ‘The Kitchen Table’, an intimate dinner setting set against an ocean backdrop. The restaurant hosts only 16 guests at one time with their exquisite 7-8 course Carribean/Peruvian cuisine.  There’s also an additional wine pairing option for any wine connoisseurs.

It’s an adventurous destination where you can try your hand at anything from horse riding to white water rafting, ziplining, climbing, white water rafting and even diving.

Top tip: Step away from reality and book in for a few nights at the La Paloma Lodge in the Osa Peninsula. It’s a remote destination with panoramic ocean views and jungle wilderness surrounding you. Nestled between Brazil and Argentina, Uruguay is slowly coming into its own as a tourism destination. The best time to visit is during their high season, mainly December to February as July and August are their coldest months and temperatures are known to drop a bit in the evenings. Uruguay keeps to its own schedule, so don’t be surprised when you find that 11pm is an acceptable time to eat dinner and the nightlife begins at midnight until 6am. It’s a place to embrace culture and a change from your normal routine.

Top tip: Stay at the Hotel Fasano Punta del Este, a luxury resort providing a vast array of services including golf, watersports, horse riding and a spa. The hotel restaurant is an experience in itself, built atop one of the country’s highest points, the stunning views are the perfect accompaniment to their Italian cuisine dishes.
