Visit a Fairy Tale Castle (Germany) →

Why not treat your loved one to a real-life fairytale castle? There are multiple dreamy castles in Germany for you and your loved one to visit!

The Neuschwanstein Castle, located in Southern Germany, was crafted in the 19th century to the extravagant tastes of Ludwig II, King of Bavaria. It was the inspiration for the sleeping beauty castles in the Disneyland parks. Whisk your loved one away to visit to the most photographed building in Germany and treat them like royalty.

110 miles to the North-West of Neuschwanstein, in the neighbouring state of Baden Wurttemberg, is the Lichtenstein Castle, nicknamed Neuschwanstein’s little brother. It was built between 1840 and 1842. Soak in the beautiful views of the Echaz Valley and Swabian Alps and take a tour through the cosy castle with the one you cherish.

Tucked deep into the forest is one of the most magical castles in the world. Eltz Castle is like no other castle in Germany as you won’t see it perched high up on the hill miles before arriving. Enjoy a romantic walk up to the castle along the beautiful Elzbach Creek in the Mosel Valley and take the iconic Eltz Castle bride photo with your nearest and dearest.

All these German fairy-tale castles offer food and drink inside and there are a number of luxury hotels close-by, ensuring a truly magical Valentine’s Day for you and your prince/princess.

Northern lights (Iceland) →

Iceland is a perfect romantic destination if you and your partner are looking for a luxurious, romantic experience!

There is nothing quite as romantic as peering into the dark night sky spotted with stars to find a shimmering river of colours undulating across it, in a curtain of colours ranging from neon green to lavender and pale pink.

One of the best places to view the Northern lights is in a nature reserve called Grotta. Grotta is located at the tip of Seltjarnarnes peninsula, this bird-watching paradise by day is removed enough from the city (only a few kilometres) to give you a good view of the natural wonder. Wrap up and hold your partner so you won’t be distracted by the cold when the Aurora arrives. There are also a number of hotel rooms and cabins you can rent out. – There’s nothing more romantic than soaking in your own hot tub whilst watching the northern lights above!

If you and your partner would rather relax this Valentine’s Day, then the blue lagoon is the perfect destination. The water of the Blue Lagoon is full of minerals, algae and silica which is extremely good for your skin. The Blue Lagoon also has a luxury hotel located on site. The retreat hotel offers a lagoon suite with your own private lagoon just a step away, making the blue lagoon a truly relaxing Valentine’s Day.

Whether you’re after the perfect setting to pop the question under the Northern Lights or just want to spend Valentine’s day relaxing in a geothermal pool against Iceland’s glorious and dramatic backdrop, Iceland is the perfect romantic getaway.

Hot air balloon ride →

Why not escape the hustle and bustle of busy crowds and experience the thrill of seeing the world from above by taking to the skies in a hot air balloon.

One of the best places to take a hot air balloon ride is in the ancient landscape of Cappadocia in Turkey.

Cappadocia is the land of the famed fairy chimneys of Goreme (volcanic rock formations eroded by wind and rain to form giant spires that rise out of the ground!). Over the years, humans have made their own mark on the rock towers, carving them into churches and houses. The breathtaking views from a hot air balloon include the surrounding vineyards, orchards and valleys.

To make the balloon ride truly romantic, make sure you catch the tour at sunrise and toast your love with a glass of champagne. This will truly be a memory for you and your partner to hold onto forever.

Luxury romantic location (Bora Bora) →

Bora Bora (the “jewel of the South Seas”) is arguably one of the most naturally beautiful places in the world and a hotspot for loved up couples. Toast sunsets from your private pool, marvel at the Tahitian night sky, or simply lose yourself in a luxurious lagoon, where the waters teem with exotic reef fish and colourful corals.

Bora Bora is magical from the moment your plane begins its descent. You and your partner will be mesmerised by the sight of spectacular palm-covered islets that surround the main island and the stunning water in multi-tones of blue and green.

You will be spoilt for choice with accommodation in Bora Bora. Guest accommodation is in a village-like setting of overwater bungalows and beachfront villas. Each has a large private terrace with snorkelling gear, high ceilings, teak wood furniture and large baths featuring deep tubs beside doors that slide open to the fresh air and views of the lagoon

There are plenty of amazing activities for you and your loved one to dive into. Go beneath the waves on a snorkel safari. Explore lagoon life on a half-day discovery tour, where you and your partner cruise Mounts Otemanu and Phai and snorkel among rays and sharks. Or make it a full-day trip and add a visit to a local fisherman’s house for a traditional Polynesian lunch.

These are just a few places you and your loved one can escape to with Vertis Aviation this Valentine’s day. Get rid of the pressure of Valentine’s with a relaxing/adventurous break with one of these locations!
